Lighting controls are the ability to manually or automatically customize the level and quality of lights in a space.

Devices that make up the system:

Sensors Fixture Controls Switches

System Functions:

  1. Dimming: changes the brightness and energy level of the light. Dimming an LED by 20% saves about 20% of the energy

  2. Detect Occupancy: sensors detect motion and turn the lights on when someone enters a room and off if the room is empty

  3. Daylight Harvest: using sensors, controls can automatically adjust the brightness to reduce energy waste in already-bright spaces

  4. Task Tuning: the ability to adjust the highest and lowest brightness of a light, for both energy savings and comfort
