Battery switches on 5.x code only transmit data and do not route back to AMBR. This means that you have to manually add the switch to the site by scanning the device into the app.

However, with 7.x code battery switches, the devices can now route data. Therefore, switches can be added into the app automatically once the switches and AMBR are powered up and communicating.
